Quality Craftsman Cabinets, Inc. (QCI), incorporated in 1973, manufactures fine architectural woodworking and all custom cabinetry for commercial and high end residential customers throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
At QCI, we combine Old World Craftsmanship with modern technology to produce superior end products.
We work with General Contractors, Architects, and Private Residential Customers.
Our products include: Custom cabinetry, paneling, crown molding, base molding, wainscoting, conference tables, free standing credenzas, bookcases, reception configurations, bathroom vanities, built-in media centers, complete kitchen configurations, door and window frames/sills/jambs, kiosks, booths, counter tops. We work in solid stock wood, veneers, plastic laminates, and solid surface materials.
ABOUT US
After High School graduation, Martin Thomson went to work for Western Woodcraft in San Francisco where he learned his trade.
In 1973, after 13 years at the only company he had ever worked for, he went into business for himself. Martin worked out of his five-car garage for 3 years before he bought a building, in 1977, on Bay Road in Redwood City. This is when he began to take on commercial work.
In 1981, when the Redwood City sight became too small, Thomson rented a space in Hunters Point Shipyard in San Francisco. During this time, Michael Thomson, Martin's son, graduated from Serra High School in San Mateo and came into the family business full time. Since then, the two Thomsons have been involved in all aspects of the business handling the machines, layouts, installations, and bidding for jobs.
In 2006, after more than 25 years at Hunters Point, the Navy closed the shipyard and Quality Craftsman moved to 2170 Cesar Chavez Street. And Now we are in Diamond Springs CA.

We have our own finishing room.
At Quality Craftsman, we source our wood from all over the world and use many hardwood species including Maple, Cherry, Mahogany, and Oak.
We have numerous wood samples for customers to choose from.
At Quality Craftsman, we are molding specialists. We fabricate wood moldings with our own Sticker machine. For our work at San Francisco's City Hall, we were able to match all the historic moldings.
Quality Craftsman is also a licensed, authorized dealer for Corian. We can fabricate and install any Corian countertops.
We are celebrating our 46th year in business!
